This spectacular 1932 Steinway Model A3 is currently undergoing a comprehensive, uncompromising restoration in our shop. The A3 is widely considered by many technicians and pianists to be one of the finest scale designs Steinway ever produced, offering a rich, thunderous bass that rivals much larger instruments. To ensure this legendary instrument performs at the absolute highest level, we are performing a full, ground-up mechanical rebuild. This includes the installation of a brand new soundboard, new bridge caps, a new pin block, and new strings. The action is also being completely replaced with new hammers, shanks, flanges, wippens, and back checks. The keys are being fitted with premium new keytops for a flawless, responsive touch. Visually, the classic Ebony cabinet is being fully stripped, repaired, and beautifully refinished to a stunning luster. The harp is being rebronzed, and all brass hardware is being polished to a brilliant shine.
